RDF PRODUCTION UNIT: WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
Waste is a resource, particularly in terms of energy. RDF (refuse-derived fuel) is produced from waste for use as an alternative to fossil and biogenic fuel by industry and collectivities.
Re-used in specially designed furnaces, it is used to produce steam to power industry, urban heating networks, or to make electricity.
Depending on the needs of the industry and/or the collectivity that uses it and the specificities of their furnaces, RDF is produced to comply with very precise specifications.
There are a number of factors that need to be controlled in order to guarantee end results: granulometry, heat levels, biogenic carbon rates, Chlorine rates, the volume of ash, humidity levels …
For furnaces that are continuously burning (shut-down forbidden, other than for planned maintenance), continuity of supply is essential. For this reason, it is crucial that RDF production facilities remain open.
RDF production, an actor in the circular economy, must meet the following objectives:
- maximum collection rates,
- considered ergonomics in order to guarantee good working conditions for each and every person working on it (working position, exposure to noise and dust, accessibility for maintenance…),
- minimum environmental impact (noise emissions, electricity use, dust emissions, fire risk control, local supply and manufacture…).
A (REY) SOLUTION FOR EVERYTHING !
RDF can only take the place of traditional fuels if the quality of fuel delivered to the consumer is fully controlled and consistent and produced within the scope of a defined regulatory framework.
The production logic for RDF and the industrial solutions offered by REY SOLUTIONS must meet the following objectives:
- Controlling and optimizing product flow (purity rate),
- Maximum availability in order to guarantee production continuity,
- Flexibility in dealing with the variability and the heterogeneity of the waste to be sorted,
- Maximizing collection rates,
- Ergonomics, taking into account individual working conditions,
- Minimising environmental impact (noise or dust emissions, electricity use, local supply and manufacture…).
Designed and manufactured by us; REY SOLUTIONS takes into account all directives pertaining to waste sorting for RDF production (INRS directive ED 948,…), provisions concerning RDF quality (orders dated May 23 2016 and October 2 2020 relating to RDF production facilities, customer specifications), together with feedback garnered from our experience in various sectors of activity over the last 35 years,
Sizing based on cross analysis, carried out with the customer, of the flows to be processed and produced and our detailed knowledge of and experience with secondary raw materials,
Made in France with materials sourced in France wherever possible, in a factory equipped with solar panels that produce more electricity than we actually use. Manufactured locally, we practise responsible production to reduce our environmental impact, and guarantee the continuity of supplies and services essential for activities in which there is no break in continuity,
Integrating innovative technologies developed in-house and/or with our preferred partners (feed hopper, reinforced conveyer belts and trommel screens, vibrating screens, sorting robots…).
